The Proposal

A magical trip to the Sequoia National Forest.

As you know Rob and I have been together for almost 8 years. I have been dreaming of the day he asks me the BIG question, "Will you marry me?"

Well, let me tell you how our proposal went.

We were on our 3rd day of hiking amazing spots in California. Our first two days were in Yosemite National Park. (HIGHLY RECOMMEND) There were a couple of times that I thought he was going to ask while we were there, but it didn't happen. Honestly, I didn't think it was going to happen at all on this trip. You see Rob and I have been to Australia, Tulum and other amazing places and it didn't happen so I didn't think this trip would be any different. Also, I packed his suitcase like I do with every trip so where would a ring have been hidden? Well, I tell you what he hid that ring sooo good! But before I tell you how let me rewind to the night before the proposal. It was our first night at our hotel in the Sequoia National Forest and a jewelry commercial came on while we were lying in bed. He made a comment about once we get home; we should go look at rings. In my mind that was confirmation that he was not proposing while we were here. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. I went to bed crying... Funny not funny... The next day my stomach was upset, and I did not feel like hiking and to be honest I was still a little butt hurt. As we were hiking, I quickly felt better because for me nature is healing. Rob was searching all over for "the spot" he has been wanting to ask at for years. He was trying to walk uphill, and I kept shutting it down. My legs were extremely tired and sore from hiking over 300 stories the two days prior. So, we kept walking and turns out we did not have to travel up hill to find the group of Sequoias. Rob set up the tripod like he was doing during the entire trip to take pictures of us. Before he got into the picture, he took some of just me and all I kept thinking about was wow this would have been an amazing spot for him to ask. Again, I was butt hurt. As he ran towards the camera to get in the photo, I kept thinking I wish I wish...and giiiirrrrlllllsss When he got down on one knee it's like the whole world stopped. I just ugly cried the whole time while saying are you serious. Needless to say, it was a very quick yes! Every day I look at my ring and smile because I am so lucky to call him my fiancé. It was worth the wait.

Oh, and the ring... Where did he have it?! You are not going to believe this! The whole time he had it wrapped in cotton at the bottom of the Aleve bottle!!! The Aleve was on top of it, and I even got some out of the bottle when I had a headache! NEVER FREAKING KNEW!

So, ladies just let your man do his thing and never second guess it because when its meant to happen it will.
